Get ready for the only film camp that teaches you the entire pipeline of Hollywood! If you are an Advanced Film Student and have a working knowledge of Digital Cameras, DSLRs, HD Cameras, Digital Work Stations and the Filmmaking Process, then our 2-Week Advanced Digital Film Camp is for you! Our outstanding faculty will cover a multitude of subjects and industry standards while sharing their knowledge and professional experiences with all of our students. The 2-Week Advanced Digital Film Camp will cover: WRITING TECHNIQUES Students will be shown how to develop their ideas into screenplays through a development process that is designed to help identify pitfalls and remove any weaknesses in their story before they begin writing their script. LIGHTING TOOLS & TECHNIQUES Students will learn the differences in Lighting for: A Studio, Stylistic or Available Light scene. As well as an in depth study of Recreating Master Lighting Techniques and the different duties of the lighting department. ADVANCED INDUSTRY PRODUCTION PIPELINE Starting with the industry standard of Production the students will have the same tools available to them on set as feature productions in Hollywood. From there we go to the Post Production process where we will utilize the Adobe Master Suite, also used by David Fincher, Disney and Marvel, which includes Color Correction & Editing in Premiere Pro. VISUAL EFFECTS Students will learn advanced VFX practices with the same tools that have been used in movies such as Avatar, Pacific Rim & The Martian, learning how to shoot for Post Production on set to how to combine CGI elements in a finalized film. We will go through the practices of gathering all the location information as well as how to capture light information which is incredibly important for the post production workflow. NEW SKILLS This Program is designed to push the already knowledgeable, advanced students in developing their technical skills, artistic vision and personal voice as Filmmakers. By the end of our 2-Week Advanced Digital Film Camp, students will have created sophisticated, high caliber films that can be submitted in their various college application processes and to local, regional, and national Film Festivals. Many of our students have continued their education at some of the best film schools in America, including: USC, New York University, Chapman University, Loyola-Marymount, UCLA and Cal Arts to name a few. Most importantly, our 2-Week Advanced Digital Film Camp will be overflowing with exciting artistic discoveries, the mastery of new cutting edge techniques, as well as the opportunity to meet new friends, collaborate, network and have loads of fun in the Southern California surf and sun. All of our Advanced Students films will be screened on the last day of the program. The Original College Audition Workshop for College-Bound Theater and Musical Theater Students! The college arts auditions are looming. Your questions are mounting. What is a contemporary monologue? Where do I find the right one for me? How do I approach classical work? How do I present myself in the interview? I want to do musical theater. Do I have to act and dance? How do I prepare? How do I put myself on tape? Is my preparation from my own school enough? Or, youre a high school junior who would like to plan ahead! US Performing Arts offers students the original College Audition Workshop to give college-bound students the tools to approach their next step with confidence. This intensive College Audition Workshop will give you the tools to forge ahead with confidence next fall. Guided by top faculty members with years of experience from top-tier university theater departments to guide students with the wisdom and experience on both sides of the audition table. You will spend your days working with Acting, Voice and Music, and Movement and Dance Choreography instructors putting together the elements you will need for your college audition. They will take you through the process analyzing and training every detail that through their experiences they know will assist you towards your goal of getting into the college of your choice. When you leave the workshop you will have a toolbox from which to draw upon as you prepare yourself for the interview and audition process for colleges and universities. This provides a rare opportunity for you to prepare for the audition and interview process that is essential for your admission to top theater training programs. Musical Theater Camp Voice, Acting & Dance! Are you or are you on your way to becoming a triple threat? Our Musical Theater Camp is designed to help hone students essential skills so they are prepared for the demands of a Broadway or musical screen career. Campers will take part daily in intensive voice, acting, and dance workshops taught by outstanding Broadway and Hollywood artists and college faculty. Our Musical Theater Camp curriculum consists of workshops that will focus on acting, improvisation, scene study and interpretation, song study and interpretation, vocal instruction, dance for musical theater, audition techniques, performance analysis, as well as performing on camera. Students will receive a brief history of musical theater. There will be a work in progress showing on the last day of camp. Students are assessed on the first day of the program and are grouped accordingly by ability. Our Musical Theater faculty works closely with students, giving one-on-one feedback to address individual strong points and weaknesses. Our program provides instruction and growth for all levels beginner to advanced.

Learn the Hollywood Way to make movies! Challenge your imagination and explore your desire to become a Filmmaker by becoming part of US Performing Arts Digital Film Camp at Pepperdine University. Students are immersed in the world of film-making from day one and are taught the Hollywood Way to make movies! Heres what our students can expect to learn: WRITING Students will be given the tools needed to identify which of their ideas are script ready and worthy of development into a feature-length screenplay. Students also learn that having a Great Script is the foundation for having a Great Film, as well as the importance of Story Structure with the emphasis on Compelling Characters, Exciting Conflicts and Thrilling Conclusions. DIRECTING Students learn the artistic and dramatic aspects of visualizing a script while learning the art of Casting and Directing Actors as well as Storyboards, Coverage and Visual Storytelling with the emphasis on the learning the language of film-making. PRODUCTION WORKFLOW Students will learn about Pre-Production, Production & Post Production and that managing the details in each of these important areas will enable them to deliver a Professional Looking Film no matter what camera or editing systems they may be currently using. EDITING Finally, Students will learn key Editing techniques that shape the film and guide the emotions of the audience, and the profound effect that having The Best Dialogue, Sound Effects and Music, will have on the final presentation of their Finished Films. GUEST SPEAKERS We will also present Industry Professionals and Visiting Filmmakers who will talk about their work on Hollywood Productions and demonstrate some of the cutting edge equipment used by todays Producers, Directors, Cinematographers and Editors. Our students will be working with the latest in State-Of-The-Art Digital Cameras, Apple Computers, and Final Cut Pro X Editing Software. They will all be formed into Production Teams of 5 or 6 students and Develop, Write, Direct, Storyboard, Cast, Shoot and Edit their own Films. All of the students productions will be presented at the Works in Progress screening on the final day of the program. Each Digital Film-making Camp will be intensive, filled with new information and technology and an ideal place for finding new friends, learning how to network, collaborate and especially having a lot of fun in the Southern California surf and sun. Take your vocal performance to the next level! Broadway artists, professional faculty, and students with a passion for singing join together for this 6-day intensive Vocal Performance Camp. Daily workshops offered will focus on developing healthy vocal techniques, music theory, sight-reading, song interpretation, and acting for the singer. Students will work on broadening the versatility of their vocal performance studying classical styles as well as Broadway belt and pop genres. Voice classes will not only be group-oriented but will also provide one-on-one coaching and feedback for students. Interactive workshops will provide students with instruction on on how to sell the lyrics of a song, build vocal repertoire for auditions, and find and select new material to sing.

Learn how to act in front of the camera by acting in front of the camera. This summer acting camp will show you the ins and outs of acting in front of the camera. Students will learn the similarities and differences between stage and film acting. Using scenes from current film and television scripts, students will work on camera every day. Students will explore and work on monologues, scenes from soap operas, sitcoms, and television commercial work. They will also alternate roles assisting in production of group scenes lighting, slating, and standing in as extras. At the end of the program, students will screen a compilation of the scenes they worked on during the week for their parents and friends. This is a must for all actors!
