Camp Fire Central Texas provides services to children, youth, and families that help them build confidence, resiliency, and an appreciation for the world around them. Camp Balcones is our summer day camp for kids ages 6–14 who have completed kindergarten. Held at scenic Emma Long Metropolitan Park in Austin, this camp offers fun, hands-on learning with weekly nature and science themes. Campers explore the outdoors, identify plants and animals, and enjoy classic activities like swimming, hiking, archery, canoeing, crafts, and unstructured play. Each week brings new STEAM-based adventures designed to keep kids curious, active, and engaged while helping prevent summer learning loss. Camp runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with an option for late pickup until 5:00 PM. It begins June 1 and continues for 5 weeks.
