Wingspan Studio

With Music, Art & Culture influencing each other for centuries, we combine them this week for a fantastique adventure in painting, a dance off, musical chairs and mixed media art. French is woven into the week with students learning greetings and musical and artistic vocabulary. We will make music and art in the studio and in nearby outdoor spaces inspired by color, nature and each other! Camp includes singing activities as well!

Flex, nurture, coax your creative voice this week and explore art forms in nature as inspo to create your own artworks. Based in a real working artists studio, projects include a week long mural well design and work on collaboratively, weird watercolors inspired by the botany of underwater creatures, acrylic paintings based on animal and plant patterns and visits to other studios! Each participant gets a sketchbook for drawing, doodling, mixed-media source material creation and world play activities/journaling.

Explore the fascinating world of animals through art, fun and French! Young artists learn about diverse creatures through vibrant art projects, creating colorful animal portraits in acrylics and oil pastels. Theyll make wild and imaginative found object sculptures, while learning French animal vocabulary and phrases. Through hands-on activities and outdoor exploration, campers celebrate nature and themselves, as we go on nature walks exploring creatures in our midst.

In this unique camp, artists/explorers dive into the wonders of water! Through the eyes of diverse artists, we explore the inspiration and value water has had over centuries to all creatures. Create watercolors in plein air, experiment with fluid drawing techniques and embark on science experiments. Well create large-scale world maps with worlds you envision for the future!
