Introduction to Catamarans is for multihull novices who already know how to sail monohulls. It is not a beginner course nor a substitute for Basic Sailing.

Sailing One is the gateway course and foundation of the Core Curriculum. It covers all the fundamentals and best practices for sailing as well as safety, rules of the road, right of way, courtesy, tides and current, required equipment, weather warnings, capsize recovery, and seamanship.

Sailing Two is built on the Sailing One foundation. Students sail in bigger, double-handed, sloop-rigged RS Quests. The course covers correct nomenclature, rigging, beach departure and landing technique, steering, tacking, jibing, points of sail, sail trim, and fundamental aerodynamic theory.

Sailing Three is a significant step up. It takes sailing fun to the next level. It is best for kids 10 and up, 12-16 is ideal, and weighing over 90 lbs. Sailing Three uses our quicker and more demanding RS Zest daggerboard dinghies.

Sailing Four is serious fun and another big step up in the Core. It is a tremendous confidence builder for juniors 12 and up, weighing at least 95 lbs. Sailing Four hones a juniors skills to the highest level.
