The South Georgia Council of the Boy Scouts of America serves 28 counties in southern Georgia and has a strong and rich tradition of service to young men and women in south Georgia. It is the mission of the Boy Scouts of America to serve others by helping to instill values in young people and in other ways prepare them to make ethical choices over their lifetime in achieving their full potential. The Council shall promote, within the territory covered by the charter, the Scouting program of promoting the ability of young men and women to do things for themselves and others, training them in Scoutcraft, and teaching them patriotism, courage, self-reliance, and kindred virtues, using the methods which are now in common use by the Boy Scouts of America.
