The Youth Leadership Week focuses on helping young people of all identities find confidence and courage through leadership in an inclusive, affirming, supportive community. Along the way, participants will explore the definitions and styles of leadership through experiential activities on Cow Island, guided discussion, self reflection and peer leadership opportunities.

Our one week Youth Leadership Summit (YLS) teaches local high school students skills to help cope with challenging situations, recognize their individual potential, and become an effective leader among their peers and in their community.

Rippleffect is a non-profit youth and community development organization, serving over 4,000 youth annually. Our mission is to promote youth development and leadership through adventure, healthy communities and living sustainably. We believe that hands-on adventure education is fundamental to healthy development of citizens and communities. Our students build confidence, develop critical leadership skills, strengthen relationships, and grow their appreciation for the outdoors through exploration of Cow Island, the waters of Casco Bay, and the wilderness of New England.

In this week-long overnight program, students will spend the week on Cow Island developing leadership skills, outdoor living practices, and sea kayaking. This program is perfect for adventurous individuals who are excited to be challenged by living on Cow Island.

This 10-day outdoor adventure for high school students explores elements of what it means to be an environmental leader through active community service, wilderness experiences, and environmental stewardship. CELP culminates in a four day sea kayaking expedition where students volunteer their time to improve the islands of Casco Bay.

These sea kayaking adventures offer the opportunity to explore the beautiful islands of Casco Bay while learning valuable outdoor living and leadership skills. Camping on a different island each night, participants will enjoy making new friends among the natural beauty of Maines coast.

CELP culminates in a four day sea kayaking expedition where students volunteer their time to improve the islands of Casco Bay.

Our Aucocisco programs offer young adventurers the opportunity to explore our island home, learn the fundamentals of sea kayaking, experience our zip line, go rock wall climbing, and make new friends. For our older day students, this week-long program is open to Rising 7th - 8th graders. Daily activities include longer day paddles in Casco Bay, ropes course challenges, and an introduction to outdoor living skills. Waves will stay overnight in Cow Island base camps on Thursday of the program week.

Cow Journeys combines the magic of the Cow Island experience with the excitement of exploring nearby islands on a two-night paddling trip. Ride our zip line, build a raft, get creative with an environmental art project, and set up your own camp on a remote island all in the same week!

Join Rippleffect for fun and exciting outdoor experiences this fall while learning how to adventure outside in the autumn weather! The program will culminate with an overnight expedition to the White Mountains where students will put into practice the skills learned during our outdoor classes and attempt to summit a mountain peak!

This program offers four unique sessions focusing on outdoor adventure and exploration including climbing at our ROCC ropes course, environmental art, winter adventure, and ocean exploration!

Join Rippleffect this February break for a week of connection, winter adventure and fun! Participants will build relationships, learn outdoor skills and have unforgettable adventure experiences including winter hiking and snowshoeing.

Meet Rippleffect at the new Rippleffect Outdoor Community Center (ROCC) for a week of connecting to the local woods and waters, friends, and self! Campers will explore the ROCC challenge course, go on excursions to local trails, beaches and parks, visit Cow Island for a day, and create a community through interactive challenges and initiatives. Free play, exploration, and adventure will all be wrapped into this outdoor experience! Lets ROCC at the ROCC!

The Winter Adventure Club is your chance to learn the basics of getting outside in the mountains in the winter! The program will culminate in a winter camping trip where participants will set up their own winter shelters, settle into camp, and attempt to climb a snowy summit!
