The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District is a multifaceted agency that was created in 1947 by a vote of the public. The District provides recreation and parks for the 245 square mile area bounded by Contra Costa County to the north, San Joaquin County to the east, Santa Clara County to the south and Cities of Pleasanton and Dublin to the west. LARPD provides school-aged child care to youth at all eleven Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District elementary schools. LARPD has the unique opportunity to provide continuity of enriching developmentally appropriate experiences for children beginning in our preschool programs, continuing with our School Age Child Development programs - ESS. The District is also the provider of community classes, youth and adult sports, aquatics, environmental education, and senior services and special events throughout the year.
