Innovation Academy

This summer camp empowers Girl Scouts and their friends to explore creativity, engineering, and technology through hands-on activities that align with badges like Innovate and Create, Think Like an Engineer, Junior Art and Design, and Model Car Design Challenge. Scouts will design egg-drop contraptions, assemble and code CuteBots, create personalized wooden lanterns with laser cutters, and build model cars to test on custom tracks. Theyll also learn 3D printing and computer-aided design, creating unique take-home projects while developing problem-solving, teamwork, and innovation skills. This camp inspires girls to think like engineers, explore STEM careers, and confidently bring their ideas to life. You dont need to be a girl scout to enjoy camp.

We will safely teach campers all the aspects involved in welding. Campers will understand the science behind the spark with safety as the number one priority. Throughout the week, campers will demonstrate their mastery in welding through different design and team projects (challace challenge, build a scooter, build an avatar). Based on the campers experience we will adjust the curriculum to meet their needs. We can pull out our TIG welding machines if some campers have mastered MIG to enrich the experience for all learners.

Campers will rotate between hands on learning stations to understand 3D printing, soldering, laser cutting and more. Campers will always rotate through a free building station to encourage individual building with legos, wooden blocks, CAD, or other materials we have at our MakerSpace. Students will take home a small project everyday.

Spend half the day rock climbing at SportRock and half the day at the BuildMo Makerspace. This camp was such a hit last year, we are offering 6 weeks this summer. Here is the BuildMo Plan: Day 1-Hands-on experience with 3D printers Design and create original 3D prints Each child takes home their 3D printed masterpiece Day 2-Fine-tune 3D printing skills Explore advanced 3D design concepts Collaborative design challenge Day 3- Hands-on soldering practice Build simple electronic circuits Create your own electronic boat Day 4-Experiment with different components Build custom electronic bugs Showcase and discuss creations Day 5-Learn coding basics for drones Piloting drones through obstacle courses Team challenges and races.

Participants will dive into hands-on activities like coding games and apps, crafting custom creations with 3D printers, laser cutters, and robotics, and tackling real-world challenges using engineering principles. Guided by expert educators, young innovators will not only sharpen their STEM skills but also build teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity in a dynamic, supportive environment.
