The Economic Opportunity Commission of Nassau County, Inc. (EOC) is a 501 (c) (3) Community Action Agency, born out of the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 which was signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson on August 20, 1964. A signature legislation of Johnsons Act, War on Poverty, provided among other things, a Job Corps program to train youth, encouraged community action programs, and provided for the establishment of the Head Start program. The EOC of Nassau County, Inc. has provided programs and services to low-income Nassau County residents for over 50 years, impacting the lives of young children and preparing them for success.

The program operates from five (5) different locations in Nassau County. In addition, an academic program with emphasis on reading comprehension, mathematics and writing skills will be included. Recreational and sports activities that foster team ethics, good sportsmanship and discipline will be integrated.
