Founded by Head Coaches, Hilde Aune & James Major, Davis Diamonds opened in Davis, CA in 2002. After meeting in Norway while both were attending graduate school for sports science, they worked not only as coaches, but as educators as well, teaching P.E. to children. Their careers have taken them from Norway to France, then Salt Lake City to Malaysia, and finally here to Davis, CA where James spent his childhood. Hilde has been coaching gymnastics for over 40 years, 7 of which were spent coaching the UC Davis Womens Gymnastics Team. James, a professional coach for over 30 years, has his Masters degree in exercise physiology. With a passion for educating children and gymnastics, they sought to fill a need for quality training and instruction, and Davis Diamonds Gymnastics was born. Hilde & James with daughter Astrid Still a family owned and operated business, our brand new facility opened in January, 2015. Davis Diamonds Gymnastics Training Center offers a wide array of gymnastics, tumbling, and fitness classes for children of walking age all the way through seniors in high school. We provide opportunities for all children to discover the art of movement through, drop-in play-times, recreational classes and competitive teams.
