Breakwater Enrichment Center offers out of school time programming for youth in the greater Portland area and beyond. During the school year, we offer after school programming including music lessons, AfterCare, and a dynamic selection of after school enrichment classes ranging from creative movement to soccer to hands on science. Over April and February school vacation and BWS Professional Development Days we offer a variety of themed vacation camps with off campus trips! During the summer months join us for dozens of summer camp options for toddler - rising 9th grade students through Summer at Breakwater camps.

Visual arts, outdoor adventure, sports and games, and cultures and communities, as well as special group projects are offered on a regular basis. The group travels with one teacher and counselor throughout the day as they travel between structured instructional time and open free play. We include lots of time to be outside and explore nature at our nearby ecosystems such as the Fore River Sanctuary.

We will be jumping into a week full of outdoor and nature based adventures, field trips, activities, and crafts! In the morning, students will head off campus (*weather permitting) for a field trip! We will spend the other half of our day doing nature and environmentally friendly hands-on learning such paper making, nature based art, outdoor free play, group games, and more! Each day will be a new and exciting experience. Strap on your spring boots and jackets and get ready to celebrate outdoor adventure by heading out into the open air with Breakwater Vacation Camp!

We will spend part of our days off-campus engaged in a medley of winter activities such as sledding, hiking, ice-skating, and fort-building (weather permitting). We will pair our days with various activities on Breakwater's campus. During the on campus portions of the day, students will have the choice between art activities, science experiments, rock climbing, and more snowy games on our playground. Each day will conclude with a closing circle to share appreciations while sipping hot chocolate.
