Do you have what it takes to survive on a deserted island? You will after spending a week with ACM in our Desert Island Survival camp. We'll be castaways on our imaginary island where we will learn how to use our resources wisely, work together as a group to solve problems, and live with the bare necessities. But don't worry - our bare necessities still include water slides, play grounds, and gymnastics equipment!

This week is all about promoting and celebrating the amazing River Arts District that has been a crucial and beloved part of our local community as well as learning about the artistic and crafting traditions of the Appalachian region at large. We want to make sure children understand how important art is for communities and individuals as well as giving them a chance to express themselves through different mediums. Whether its through painting, drawing, weaving, yarn crafts, macrame, beading, sewing, clay or any other artform, this week will offer plenty of opportunities to make something special. We will be commencing the week with a gallery walk that will give kids the chance to proudly display their favorite artwork!

Who loves tasty, healthy snacks? Late summer harvest brings lessons on local foods, cooking, and nutrition. This week is all about making and of course eating delicious and nutritious recipes. At the end of the week everyone will get to enjoy a grand feast that they helped to prepare!

Time to build your imagination and become a maker and a doer! This week includes plenty of opportunities to build and make things big and small. Whether its just learning how to hammer a nail, design the fort of your dreams, or take common objects and transform them into something unique, children will be presented with so many opportunities to create something fun and new. Join us for a week full of building, creation and skill building!

Lets take a virtual trip around the world and see what kids in other countries do for fun! Well find the similarities and appreciate the differences. Campers will experience food as well as various games and crafts from different countries and cultures. This also creates a great opportunity for them to share their own multicultural lifestyles and experiences.

Join us for a week of magical fun. Youll be sorted into one of our ACM Wizardry Houses! Come ready to make potions, learn magical herbology, hear the secrets of fortune telling, play Quidditch, and celebrate other aspects of the Harry Potter world. This week is sure to be a favorite!

Calling all revolutionary kids! You are the future. We will remember the passion for change that founded our country, and practice being the change we wish to see. This week is focused on helping kids understand fairness and justice through games and conversations. Using a village model role play, kids will explore ways to work as a group, promote justice and maybe even start a revolution of their own!

Youd be surprised by how many art materials we can find just by walking outside! This week we will use tools provided by Mother Nature, as well as our own imaginative minds, to create a multitude of masterpieces. Kids will also work with their groups to create beautiful tiny homes for fairies to live in for the week, allowing for lots of magical fun!

Lets get loud! This week will focus on the many ways we can make noise and have fun while doing so. Whether partaking in song, music, instrument making, storytelling, theater, or practicing another language, come ready to find your voice and raise it! Kids will also focus on presenting a talent at our big talent show at the end of the week. They can choose to put on a show with their group or other kids, or do a solo presentation!

Schools out for summer! This is a week to celebrate being out of school, but also to help kids embrace their wild sides. Kids will spend time outdoors learning various survival skills as well as using their creative side to make fun and wild crafts. Everyone will also have the opportunity to get their energy out through group games and various movement activities. Come start your summer off with some wild fun!
